Updates

The Papua New Guinea Field serves a diverse nation of approximately 10.6 million people across 883 identified people groups, reflecting one of the most culturally and linguistically rich contexts in the world. Among these groups, only one people group (0.1%) remains classified as unreached and frontier, representing about 30,000 individuals—or 0.3% of the population—who still have limited access to the Gospel. While the vast majority of communities have some level of Christian presence, ongoing ministry focuses on strengthening discipleship, supporting local churches, and intentionally reaching remaining unreached populations through compassionate service, leadership development, and contextualized mission efforts across the country.

Breakthrough

This last year has especially seen major and encouraging breakthroughs in significant areas across the Melanesia South Pacific Field, as we believe that long-term strategies and tenacious determination by many of our solid church leaders have resulted in significant Kingdom victories being won.

VICTORY!

Victory for the Church of the Nazarene in the crisis of Nazarene Teacher’s College in Papua New Guinea. A seven-year battle to take and keep control away from the Church of the Nazarene was finally won by the church!

Missionaries

Currently, 46 Nazarene Missionaries serve within this area. Our missionaries are sent to serve here, from 6 different home countries.

Organized Churches

The Church of the Nazarene has 17 organized Districts with approximately 533 organized churches.

Clinics

Approximately 60,000 patients were helped in the name of Jesus at Kudjip Nazarene Hospital this year, and countless more at each of our 6 Clinics.

Dedications

We dedicated the opening of a fully funded 4.6 million dollar Hydro Electric this year and we are currently looking at doubling the size of our Nurses College
